If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be, and why?
If I were to write a book about my life, the title would be “Charting My Own Course: From Travel Hacks to Building a Legacy.” It would reflect my journey—traveling the world through smart credit card hacking strategies, savvy deal finding, and investing in real estate while carving out my path as a self-made individual.
It’s about balancing ambition with enjoyment, making intentional choices, and proving that with determination and passion, you can create a fulfilling and financially independent life. You only live once and are only this age at this very moment in time!
How about your professional life?
If I were to write a book about my professional life, the title would be “Breaking Through: Leadership, Success, and the Power of Women” It would chronicle my journey through the dynamic world of marketing, where I’ve consistently pursued success through hard work, innovation, and a relentless drive to achieve results.
The book would showcase how I’ve built my career on versatility and adaptability while embracing growth opportunities. Often the only woman in rooms full of men, this experience has strengthened my commitment to breaking barriers and championing women in leadership roles. My story is about not only hitting big business goals but also creating space for others to thrive and proving that, with resilience and confidence, women can and do excel in any industry.
What motivated your involvement with the AMA-New Jersey chapter, and why is this organization significant to you?
I’ve been a part of AMA for over 13 years.
I started during my undergrad days in Massachusetts at Bridgewater State University’s American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter, which helped me build knowledge in the marketing field through social activities like managing fundraising events, creating marketing plans, and hosting guest speakers from professional marketing backgrounds.
Now, moving to the NNJ/NYC area- my previous experience encouraged a supportive network of peers interested in the industry, which motivated my continued involvement with the AMA-New Jersey chapter. It’s been a meaningful way to stay connected with fellow local marketers and continue learning outside my day-to-day work.
What advice would you offer to new professionals in your industry?
Startup life is tough and not for everyone—it’s fast-paced, unpredictable, and often demands long hours with limited resources. You’ll face pressure to deliver results quickly, and setbacks are inevitable as you try to carve out a niche in competitive markets.
Hopefully, that didn’t scare you off! Still, for those who thrive in this challenging environment, the rewards of innovation, growth, and building something from the ground up can be incredibly fulfilling.
In an early-stage startup, marketing resources and budgets are often limited, so you need to be creative, scrappy, and adaptable. You’ll wear many hats and be directly responsible for driving growth, often with minimal support. Embrace this challenge by focusing on high-impact, low-cost strategies like organic content, targeted outreach, and leveraging partnerships. Prioritizing the most effective channels and tactics is critical to thriving in this environment.
Stay curious and adaptive; B2B marketing evolves quickly, whether it’s new platforms, trends in content creation, or innovative strategies like ABM and AI. I still learn every single day.
Lastly, be resilient; marketing isn’t always smooth sailing; campaigns might fail, and results can take time. Be patient and willing to learn from mistakes. The ability to pivot and keep moving forward will set you apart for your future career in startups and B2B.
