If you were to write a book about your professional and personal life, what would the title be, and why?
For both this and my professional life, it would be “The Pivot – A life of constant change and reinvention”. I’ve been fortunate to have a bunch of careers – management consulting, brand marketing, agency growth leader, and now fractional cmo. I’ve also have worked in several industries, in global, regional, and US roles. I’ve also lived in a bunch of places. Each time, I’ve had to pivot, adapt, overcome any fears and barriers – all of this has shaped who I am.
What motivated your involvement with the AMA-New Jersey chapter, and why is this organization significant to you?
I initially joined MENG, which was an organization that hosted a monthly breakfast for senior-level marketers in Madison. I really enjoyed those events and the people I met. That parlayed into the AMA when that MENG got absorbed by the AMA. Since then, I stuck with AMA-NJ to keep tabs on what’s going on in the marketing community locally.
What advice would you offer to new professionals in your industry?
It’s really simple – be a good human and go all in on mastering your craft. The first part allows you to build and maintain a network of relationships that will serve you throughout your journey. The latter ensures you’re doing everything you can to build yourself, the brands you serve, and the consumers your work you touch. By doing both, you’ll have a career that will be both challenging and rewarding at the same time.
