Member Spotlight: David Faccone

David Faccone, beSure founder, was part of business networking groups for a long time. He saw a problem though: these groups were doing well at their meetings but weren’t connecting with the local community. People outside didn’t even know these groups existed. That’s why he started beSure. David wanted to bring honest and hardworking business folks to the community, putting customers first. At beSure, the partners are small business owners, sales reps, and entrepreneurs who care more about building relationships than just making deals.

If you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be, and why?

Be Bold & Courageous with the subtitle You Will Regret the Things You Didn’t Do More than the Things You Did. This was a quote that was shared with me by my freshman orientation counselor a few days before I began classes at Villanova University.  That counselor tragically passed away a day or two after we met, and this quote always stuck with me.  I have always lived my life this way.  If I get invited somewhere, I go.  Whether I’m tired, busy, or otherwise, I always try to interact with the people I love because life is short and we do not get to have a do-over.

How about your professional life?

If I were to write a book about my professional life it would be titled Chase After the Dream, Don’t Chase After the Money. This is a lyric from the song “No Such Thing as a Broken Heart” by the country music group Old Dominion. It speaks to the way I was taught to do business by my father; build quality relationships with good people, do everything you can to help them, and you will always be rewarded for doing the right thing.

What motivated your involvement with the AMA-New Jersey chapter, and why is this organization significant to you?

I was motivated to join the AMA because after meeting Jamie Jurgaitis I learned that the organization’s heart was in the right place, so to speak.  Just as my business focus is helping the members of beSure build strong relationships within our networking groups, the AMA is focused on the education and advancement of their members as well, and I found that refreshing.  Belonging to an organization that strives to help its members without a hidden agenda is what truly makes the AMA special.

What advice would you offer to new professionals in your industry?

There aren’t too many new professionals in my industry, which is exactly why I launched my business in the first place! All joking aside, I felt that many of my competitors were a bit stale in their offerings and I yearned to “build that better mousetrap,” and I consider myself a success so far.  For any professionals new to the business of networking I would tell them to do the right thing by their members. Period. Relationships come first and revenue will come later if you treat everyone well.  Always, and I mean always, come from a place of love.  That will take you farther than you have ever dreamed possible.

For anyone looking to connect with you, what is the best way to reach out on social media?
