On-boarding Specialist, Leadership, Experience & Development (LEAD)
About the role:
Reports to: VP, LEAD
Responsibilities:
Attends AMA NJ events to network with attendees and recruit volunteers to serve on various AMA NJ committees
Reaches out to prospective volunteers by sending emails and/or making phone calls to those that have expressed interest
Ensures that job descriptions are up-to-date and accurate
Assists VP, LEAD to ensure all open volunteer positions are posted and updated on the AMA NJ website and applicable social media platforms through collaboration with the Communications Committee.
Assists our efforts to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all people
Contributes to strategies for improving our practices and culture
Develops and maintains a database of volunteers and prospective volunteers
On-boards new volunteers with necessary access to systems and emails used for internal communication
Keeps regular communication with current volunteers to ensure satisfaction with current roles
Maintains login credentials for onboarding platforms, including Slack, Google Console, and Google Drive
Works towards the betterment of the organization through inclusive practices (encouraging/creating an environment where individual voices and perspectives are welcomed)
Keeps AMA NJ’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion top of mind as tasks and projects are performed
Experience requirements:
Degree in human resources, marketing, and/ or related field with experience leading or participating in diversity advocacy initiatives
Experience with recruitment and retention strategies and initiatives
Experience with Slack recommended
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally, coordinating across a large, dynamic organization with multiple board members and committees
Time commitment and reporting requirements:
Serves approximately 6-10 hours per month, depending on the time of year
Assists AVP/VP with overseeing volunteers on the LEAD Committee
Collaborates with AVP/VP to create committee goals and KPI’s
Attends a minimum of 3 chapter events and programs (free or discounted price)
Attends weekly or biweekly committee calls/meetings and provide committee reports (day/time determined by VP and AVP)
